چکیده

Time-Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH), an operational mode of the IEEE 802.15.4e standard, imposes a high workload on embedded processor, mainly due to its precise timing. The limited processor edge device cannot satisfy considerable memory footprint and computational complexity caused by functions that need timing in protocol stack. Moving such duties hardware seems be viable path towards offloading releasing resource used for running firmware related implementation upper layers stack as well application. In this work, TSCH accelerator is designed integrated within digital baseband 802.15.4 transceiver. whole system implemented targeting TSMC 65 nm technology. has efficient interface totally configurable software. It efficiently controls transceiver, frees up cycles, reduces interrupt callback processor. Therefore, makes it possible use cheaper or operate lower clock speed which results power consumption. analysis shows that, minimal setting accelerator, only 0.1% added consumption overhead increases 5.6% supporting three parallel slotframes widely multi-hop networks. return, relaxed processing interrupts are required software-based implementation.

Competition: Adaptive Time-Slotted Channel Hopping

Time-Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH) from the IEEE 802.15.4-2015 standard uses channel hopping to combat interference and frequency-selective fading. It has attracted large attention from the research community due to its properties: high reliability in terms of packet delivery rates, and increased predictability in terms of energy consumption and latency, as compared to commonly used lowpower C...

A Case for Time Slotted Channel Hopping for ICN in the IoT

Recent proposals to simplify the operation of the IoT include the use of Information Centric Networking (ICN) paradigms. While this is promising, several challenges remain. In this paper, our core contributions (a) leverage ICN communication patterns to dynamically optimize the use of TSCH (Time Slotted Channel Hopping), a wireless link layer technology increasingly popular in the IoT, and (b) ...

A 900MHz CMOS RF Transceiver Including Digital Baseband and Hardware-MAC for IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee Applications

This paper presents a fully-integrated RF transceiver operating from 860 to 930 MHz. The device parameters are compliant to the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. The analog portion of the chip contains a direct-conversion receiver, a fractional-N PLL, a direct-conversion transmitter and a TR-switch. Digital baseband signal processing as well as MAC support are also implemented on the same chip. Only mini...

A decentralized scheduling algorithm for time synchronized channel hopping

Time Synchronized Channel Hopping (TSCH) is an existing medium access control scheme which enables robust communication through channel hopping and high data rates through synchronization. It is based on a time-slotted architecture, and its correct functioning depends on a schedule which is typically computed by a central node. This paper presents, to our knowledge, the first scheduling algorit...

An Interpolated Frequency-Hopping Spread-Spectrum Transceiver

A technique of spread-spectrum transmission, interpolated frequency-hopping (IFH), is presented. IFH employs a carrier that moves smoothly and continuously in frequency, helping to alleviate problems, such as spectral splatter and transient mismatch, which are a concern in conventional phase-locked loop (PLL)-based frequency-hopping spread-spectrum systems. In IFH, the pseudorandom hopping code...
